Pack the Pooch is an innovative platform that connects dog owners with dog-friendly spots across Ireland, whether it's accommodation, cafes, restaurants, or other pet services. From stunning lighthouses in Mayo to mini farms in Wexford, charming thatched cottages in Tipperary, private islands in Fermanagh, and glamping in Leitrim, Pack the Pooch offers a wide variety of truly dog-friendly listings. With hundreds of carefully curated locations and thousands of monthly visitors, it has become one of the go-to resources for dog travelers in Ireland.
The idea for Pack the Pooch came from personal experiences of traveling with our dogs, which were often less than ideal. This motivated me, along with Carly Mooney, to create a platform that would uncover and list genuine dog-friendly places and services, while fostering a vibrant community of dog lovers. The platform was built by combining a range of out-of-the-box solutions, enhanced with bespoke customisations, and is hosted on a secure, scalable VPS cloud, with traffic routed through Cloudflare for added security and performance.
POOCH! Magazine serves as the central hub for dog-related news and is the voice of Pack the Pooch. Both Pack the Pooch and POOCH! Magazine are personal passion projects, not driven by any business model, but created to support and serve the wonderful dog-loving community in Ireland.
